Three simple ways to begin

You don't need to have it all figured out. Jesus invited people to come as they are, and seeking him is a good place to start.

Read about him

Open the Gospel of John or Mark and read about who Jesus is, what he taught, and how he treated people. Take it a few paragraphs at a time.

Talk to God

Prayer can be as plain as honest words. Tell God what you are wondering, what you are afraid of, and what you hope is true.

Ask and keep asking

Bring your questions to a trusted Christian friend, a pastor, or a local church. Good questions are welcome.

Words to hold onto

Encouragement from Scripture

“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”

Matthew 11:28

“And ye shall seek me, and ye shall find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.”

Jeremiah 29:13

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

John 3:16

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

Romans 5:8

The heart of the message

The perfect sacrifice

The Bible teaches that Jesus gave his life once, for everyone, so that we could be forgiven and brought close to God. Nothing needs to be added to it, and nothing you have done is too much for it.

“For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.” — Hebrews 10:14
